In celebration of the Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight, two Fife favourites have teamed up to share a delicious interpretation of a traditional Scottish pudding. Clootie McToot have created, a Clootie Dumpling filled with dates, cherries and Lindores Abbey Distillery’s Aqua Vitae.

This is an indulgent dessert where the fruits are soaked in copious amounts of Aqua Vitae spirit from Lindores Abbey Distillery. The addition of cherries sweetens, ginger smoulders and a sprinkle of luxurious dark chocolate polishes the flavours to perfection. It tastes best when served with a mascarpone and cherry puree or a simple fresh clotted cream.

Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food & Drink, commented: “Scottish Food & Drink Fortnight is the biggest annual celebration of Scotland’s magnificent larder and it’s fantastic to see Lindores Abbey and Clootie McToot forge a unique collaboration bringing together two great Scottish products. We love it when businesses partner like this and the Fortnight is all about recognising and honouring stories like these and encouraging everyone to get involved.”

Those who are curious to learn how to make one of Scotland’s favourite sweet dishes can join the demo and tasting afternoon at Lindores Abbey Distillery on Saturday 14th September. The event will be hosted by the mastermind behind Clootie McToot, Michelle Maddox.
